Good Friends, Good Times (part 1)

So in a belated attempt to document our last couple of months I am going to do a series of posts, starting with this... in my defense, I did try and upload pictures to do this blog several times over the last few weeks...it kept kicking me out for some reason though. I was to lazy to try to figure it out until now! We were able to spend a super fun time with some of our favorite peeps in September when we returned to MI for a little visit and a wedding. We actually spent most of our time up in Traverse City (another post to follow) which was an amazing and much needed vacation for all... but did get in a little good quality time in East Lansing before we headed up north. For those of you in the know...yes, we did hit the Twist (several times) and notice the NEW TABLES! So fancy huh! So here's a couple of pics of us enjoying our favorite ice cream, and Noah with his "jimmies". We were also able to squeeze in a trip to the MSU Children's Garden as well, one of our other favorite spots! This time we actually had children with us who were old enough to actually enjoy it! So fun, the kiddos had a great time...but still are working on posing for a picture all together! Such best buddies! The train was the biggest hit along with the stomping chime thing...(don't really know what it would be called). We had such a great time, wished we could have seen even more people and things... but we'll be back again sometime soon to visit again I promise! We LOVED our time in MI and has so many great memories for us. Loves and misses to all you out there who know the feeling:)

Diplomat

Well as many of you may be aware Noah has been working towards becoming a Foreign Service Officer for almost a year now. He has passed all the tests and completed all the paperwork and as of Friday he received his official offer to attend Junior Officer training. We will be moving to Washington D.C. in early January and we will be spending anywhere from 3 to 12 months there while he learns the in and outs of what his job will be. We are super excited and can't wait for all of the wonderful experiences that will come from being an FSO. I will post more details in the days to come and keep you all up to date on our adventures. I am so proud of my future "Diplomat".

Summer Catch Up

We ended up being pretty busy in August and September, and as much as I had good intentions...I didn't get anything blogged about until now. I wanted to get Roni's birthday events up soon for the grandparents, but now I can catch up on the other fun events that have happened to us recently! So aside from birthday stuff, all new post will be in the correct order:) At the end of August we were lucky enough to have some of our very best friends, Tim, Ashley and Xavier come to visit us for a week!! We have missed them so much, not being able to live close... and we loved every minute of it! The boys all had a blast playing together, and we got in tons of good time with our peeps:) We got to go to Temple Square (where we both got married) together and have a fun time with our little families. We also had a great time at the pool here in town and figured out who the daredevils in the families are:) Ronan and Xavier both went down the water slide over and over again with the daddies...Porter, not so much! We ate tons of yummy food, and had plenty of hanging out! We had such a blast, and pray every night that we get to live close to each other again someday!

They were snuggling watching cartoons-it was so cute, I tried to get a picture. Xavier is awesome at grinning for pics, Porter just rolled to the side to keep watching his show. Silly boys!

Ronan 2 year photo shoot

We did Roni's 2 year old pictures the other day, and I thought they turned out really cute! Being that he is two years old, and was EXTREMELY focused on all the rocks and train tracks on the ground..I had a very difficult time getting him to look up at all:) What a silly kid. I just love all the pictures I've ever seen done out at these tracks-nice and dormant most of the time (so don't worry grandparents:) So anyway, I thought we got some great ones, and I love seeing the size ratio as well. It will be fun to look back and see how small he was compared to the train tracks! I can't believe he is growing up so fast. What a cutie!

2 year old Haircut!

So in our little family we have a tradition not to cut our kids hair until they are 2. It started with daddy, then when both of our boys have been mostly bald for more than the first year, it was an easy choice to just let it grow for a little while longer! It has been fun to see how much hair they each had at the exact same age. I think that Ronan surpassed Porter by just a little bit, and Roni's was MUCH curlier! His hair wasn't totally cooperating when I tried to get a good pic of the curls, they are only so so. But sometimes it has been so curly, into little ringlets, and SO stinking cute!! Either way, the day came to chop off his lovely locks:( It is a sad day for me too. With both of them it is the end of an era. Cutting off their super soft and wispy baby hair means they are officially little boys now. It is amazing the difference it makes! So with now further ado...some before and after pics!

Birthday Boy

Wow! It has been a busy couple months I guess! I have been a terrible slacker lately, and I do have several other big posts to do. They will just have to be a little bit out of order I guess though. I needed to get this birthday post up for the grandparents asap, and then I will catch up on other news. So..... our little Roni turned 2 a few days ago!!!!! I can't believe it. I officially don't have a baby in the house anymore:( He is turning into such a little big boy, and always wants to be just like his brother. Some things about Ronan at 2: he loves any sort of ball, especially baseballs though since we have been attending Daddy's softball games all summer, and he loves to THROW things. He surprisingly has a really good arm! He definitely has better hand-eye coordination than Porter which is funny! He also loves to snuggle. He has always been a cuddle-bug and still is. I can always count on a good few minutes every day, which as expected always melts my heart.

So for his birthday party I decided to do a baseball theme! It is October after all and the playoffs are on in our house! Go Phillies! So anyway, He got his first glove and ball from daddy and a little tikes t-ball stand and bat, along with some other fabulous toys! Thanks to all the fam:) He LOVES everything! We had some hot dogs and nachos, fountain drinks and cracker jacks. I also made him a baseball cake as well that I thought turned out pretty darn cute! All in all, he had a great day. Here are some of the pics to commemorate the event.

the Cousins!

So we have had a VERY busy month of July! The majority of which was having a great time with Noah's Uncle/Aunt and cousins from France! They were able to take their vacation this year to the USA, and spend several weeks with us! We did tons of fun things, and enjoyed spending time with the fam! Porter especially had a BLAST, and has really been missing his cousins!

my uploading keeps getting messed up, so that's all the photos you get! sorry:)
